Contec Development is a partnership between Todd Dunning and Yaron Cohen, that began in 2015. Both have an extensive history in the lighting industry and both had always been reluctant to sell small, LED pendants. Having a hardwired LED bulb was a major drawback. The inability to change the bulb was a matter of concern for customers. With that in mind, Yaron took it upon himself to come up with a simple, yet elegant, solution to this problem. After a year of development, he perfected our patent-pending system for safely and easily exchanging the bulb. However, in the process of designing the LED bulb, he ended up with an LED bulb so reliable, that exchanging the bulb was no longer the main advantage. The main benefit in our system now, is that a customer can specify any configuration and the light fixture is assembled to order, at our Canadian facility. With over 20,000 possible combinations (and growing), we are able to offer an almost unlimited range of choices. The changeable bulb also allows for a customer to ‘upgrade’ their fixture, if they ever grow tired of the existing sconce. They can simply remove the old sconce, and install a new one, literally in minutes.
